Swinging Soirée
10am to 5pm
Find us at the intersection of South George Washington Boulevard and 31st Street South adjacent to McConnell Air Force Base. Open Tuesday through Sunday.
A 1927 Swallow, a 1931 Stearman Model 4D - just two aircraft on display inside the west wing.
The B-52 under restoration is a highlight of our ramp.
The importance of the Kansas Aviation Museum building to the glory days of Kansas aviation cannot be overstated. Its grand art-deco style appeals both to the aviation community and to anyone interested in historic preservation.
Join us in celebrating the 2020 Kansas Aviation Honor Awards recipients. Enjoy a cocktail reception and ceremony introducing two new Kansas Aviation Hall of Fame inductees and the Governor’s Aviation Honor Award recipient.
Dozens of talented, dedicated and highly skilled volunteers donate countless hours of their time restoring aircraft so they can take their place telling the story of Kansas aviation. Restoration projects range from the earliest production aircraft to the much revered Beechcraft Bonanza.
Our archives are a gold mine of aviation history for the United States and the world. We have original documents, photographs, negatives, drawings, periodicals and blueprints of many historic aircraft.

The Kansas Aviation Museum invites you to participate in our annual fundraiser, but instead of a stuffy dinner, we're throwing a Swinging Gatsby-style, Roaring 20s Soiree!
• Enjoy the antics of aerial acrobats
• Dance to a big band on our beautiful atrium floor, where Fred Astaire once danced to entertain fellow travelers when waiting for a flight
• Enjoy heavy hors d'oeuvres, champagne (we're getting extra this year), and full-service bars
• Take period photo opportunities, including with a 1920s plane
• And for an upgraded ticket, get the password for our hidden Speakeasy on the Static and 1920s period cocktails.

Your participation would be the 'Cat's Meow' and help support museum operations and STEM education for Wichita's future aviators. You won't want to miss this over-the-top fun event, and you'll be the Bee's Knees for our cause in 2023!
