Bowen began specializing in aviation photography in 1972. He adapted new techniques for photographing flying aircraft, and the aviation industry soon sought him out to show their equipment in beautiful and unique environments. Bowen used a World War II era B-25 with an open tail-gunner. The unusual camera angles against beautiful landscapes presents each aircraft in its best possible setting. His creative genius was seen by a global audience in over 1,000 magazine covers, in yearly calendars and coffee table books. Bowen has  was named “Photographer of the Year”, and was inducted into the International Air & Space Hall of Fame in 2013.
