Jerry Moran attended Fort Hays State University and later received his J.D. from the University of Kansas. He served seven terms in the US House of Representatives, and was elected as Senator in 2011. He serves as the Chairman of the Commerce Subcommittee on Aviation, Space and Innovation, and is Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, and Science, and a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development. Moran helped pass legislation to bolster the aviation industry, including a long-term FAA reauthorization, and legislation supporting advanced air mobility. He serves as co-chair of the Senate Aerospace Caucus, Senate Sustainable Aviation Caucus, and Space Force Caucus and is a member of the General Aviation Caucus and the Senate Unmanned Aircraft System Caucus.
