Hedrick joined Beechcraft in 1940, and assumed the presidency in 1968. After the Raytheon-Beech merger in 1980, he was elected to the Raytheon Board of Directions and continued at Beechcraft until his retirement in 1982. Hedrick was a founder and lifetime member of the General Aviation Manufactures Association and served as a director and chairman of the board.
