Charles Seitz

1995
Governor’s Aviation Honor Award

Seitz was born in Hollenberg, Kansas, and took his first flying lesson at the young age of 15, with an OX-5 Lincoln Paige in a cow pasture. In the following 60 years, he was involved airport management, flight school operations, aircraft sales and air taxi services. He is most well known in the Wichita area for teaching thousands of individuals to fly, both in primary training as well as helping pilots to achieve advanced training certificates. He accumulated nearly 50,000 logged flying hours in many types of aircraft. Many professional pilots can attribute their career advancements to the outstanding instruction offered by him. A “pilot’s pilot,” Charles Seitz was a role model for young men and women aspiring to aviation careers.
