The Allied A-2 Balantine was a prototype plane built in Wichita in 1948 by the Allied Aircraft Company. Unfortunately, all of the jigs and tools used to make this prototype burned in a fire that permanently stopped construction for Allied. This plane was a number of design elements common in 1940s airplane design, including a polished aluminum finish and V tail.
