Jessie E. Schulz Woods and Jimmie Woods, with partner Squeek Burnett, flew more than 480 Flying Aces shows. As part of the show, Jessie was known to walk out on the wing of the flying airplane. As a prominent “Wing Walker” and pilot, she enthusiastically supported the Ninety-Nines. She formed two chapters of the Women’s Pilot Organization, and promoted education and safety. After spending hours in the air, she used that experience to teach the best practices of flying to hundreds of pilots, including many who were training for World War II. Several of these students returned to thank her for thoroughly preparing them for what they would encounter. Her years of dedication to aviation were rewarded later in life with numerous accolades. Woods’s accomplishments have been featured in newspaper articles, talk shows, books, and television programs.
