Take Pride in Wichita Aviation Heritage

by Lon Smith on January 3, 2011

It is time for us all to stand up and take pride in our long and rich aviation heritage. The Kansas Aviation Museum – housed in the original, historic Wichita Air Terminal from 1934 to 1854 – is the gateway to this heritage and, as such, is something about which we should all take pride. However, our museum now has heat and air in only about 30% of the building, has no elevator for handicap accessibility and does not have proper restrooms. We need your help to make this the Wichita icon that we, as a community, deserve. What are your thoughts? How do you think we should proceed as we work to secure the funding to make our aviation museum the Wichita gem that we all deserve?
